Chatham Arts Council

DLC is a Supporting Sponsor of the 2018 Chatham Arts Council Pickin’: A Music Celebration, the Arts Council’s Annual Benefit for Artists-in-Schools. Chatham Arts Council’s Chatham Artists-in-Schools Initiative has brought professional artists into schools to support math, science, language, and history curricula. Through interactive, engaging workshops taught by theatre actors, performance artists, dancers, mural painters, African drummers, and strings musicians, students have unique opportunities for a deeper engagement with learning objectives.

CORA Food Pantry, Chapel Hill

The CORA Food Pantry serves any Chatham County resident or family in need of emergency food due to job loss, illness, loss of domicile, loss of breadwinner or other hardship. CORA also has two nutrition programs for children: a summer food program called SNACK! (Summer Nutritional Assistance for Chatham Kids) and the Backpack Support Program that helps independent Backpack programs provide food to disadvantaged school children for weekends and holidays. This year, DLC is adding to its past support of CORA by sponsoring CORA’s First Annual Charity Golf Tournament.

Super Cooper’s Little Red Wagon Foundation 8th Annual Rockin’ Run, Chapel Hill

A child’s diagnosis with cancer affects the whole family. The emerging new reality for these families is surgeries, countless medical procedures, radiation and chemotherapy, often requiring months away from the comforts of home and creating an unbearable financial strain. By empowering families with support, hope and a welcoming community while they are away from home, Super Cooper’s Little Red Wagon Foundation can provide strength in their fight against cancer. DLC is proud to once again sponsor the Super Cooper Rockin’ Run.

Chatham County Alzheimer’s NC Committee Annual 5K, Chapel Hill

The Dermatology & Laser Center of Chapel Hill is pleased to once again partner with the Chatham County Alzheimer’s NC Committee at their Annual Chatham County Alzheimer’s NC Walk & 5K Run to promote awareness of the growing national concerns over Alzheimer’s disease and dementia in our aging population.

Mia Hamm Foundation

The Mia Hamm Foundation is a non-profit, national organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for families in need of a marrow or cord blood transplant and to the development of more opportunities for young women in sports. DLC is pleased to financially support this cause.

Chatham County Literacy Council – Play Scrabble for Literacy

Chatham County Literacy Council offers free tutoring for adults who live or work in Chatham County and want to improve their reading and writing ability, learn basic math, study English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), prepare to take the test to earn a high school credential, prepare for the test to become a U.S. citizen, learn basic computer skills, and learn about the norms and expectations of today’s workplaces. DLC is pleased to support the efforts of this essential community organization.

The Fall Festival at Christ United Methodist Church
November 4, 2017

The Fall Festival at Christ United Methodist Church in Southern Village is dedicated to bringing its members and community together for lots of Family Fun. Games & prizes, crafts, raffles, inflatables, food vendors, and live music make this an event with something for everyone. There is even a dunk tank! Proceeds benefit missions serving local and global communities, as well as providing relief to those recently affected by hurricane disasters.

Perry Harrison Elementary School, Chapel Hill – 10th Annual Run for the Mariners 5K and Obstacle Course

The Perry Harrison Elementary School PTA is committed to providing outreach to new students and families by encouraging participation in their events. They reach beyond the school to the partners in their community for guidance, participation, and financial support for their programs. 100% of the proceeds from the Annual Run for the Mariners 5K and Obstacle Course event goes back to the school thanks to the generous support of its sponsors.

The Perry Harrison Elementary School is located just up the road from the Dermatology & Laser Center, and the children of some of our staff attend there.
