Subaru Family Fun Event
Carolina Swims Foundation, Chapel Hill
November 9, 2019
DLC donated a skincare basket for the silent auction during the Subaru Family Fun Event. Carolina Swims Foundation provides FREE swim lessons and water safety instruction to children in Foster Care. They help reduce the number of potential aquatic related fatalities among the youth in our community.

CORA Food Pantry, Chapel Hill

The CORA Food Pantry serves any Chatham County resident or family in need of emergency food due to job loss, illness, loss of domicile, loss of breadwinner or other hardship. CORA also has two nutrition programs for children: a summer food program called SNACK! (Summer Nutritional Assistance for Chatham Kids) and the Backpack Support Program that helps independent Backpack programs provide food to disadvantaged school children for weekends and holidays.

A Cappella in the Park

An event to support Dhillon’s Gift, a fund that supports research and learning in the field of congenital heart defects and honors the memory of Dhillon Shah who passed away in July 2015, at just 12 years old after complications from a heart transplant. He was both an organ recipient and donor.
The Chatham Experience

The Chatham Arts Council nurtures creative thinkers in Chatham County by investing in artists and educating kids through the arts. All proceeds from The Chatham Experience event benefit the CACâ€™s Artists-in-Schools Initiative, a program that has been bringing professional artists into schools to support math, science, language, and history curricula for the past four years.
Woof-A-Palooza, Briar Chapel

The mission of Chatham Animal Rescue & Education (CARE) is to promote the health and safety of all dogs and cats in Chatham County, NC. DLC is a proud sponsor of the 2019 Woof-A-Palooza which will help raise funds to rescue animals, expand and promote our spay and neuter program, and educate our community about responsible pet ownership.
Bike MS: Historic New Bern Ride

DLC is happy to support the fund raising efforts of Team Longobardo for the Bike MS Historic New Bern Ride. Bike MS is the fundraising cycling series of the National MS Society and raises more money than any other cycling event for any other cause. To date, Bike MS cyclists, volunteers, and donors have raised more than $1.3 billion to stop MS in its tracks, restore what’s been lost, and end MS forever.
SECU Family House Gala, Chapel Hill

The SECU Family House Gala raises mission-critical funds to for the SECU Family House. The SECU Family House provides a safe, affordable home for guests who travel great distances to UNC Hospitals for life saving treatment.

Partners for Youth Opportunity, LUEWWD Fundraiser

DLC is a proud sponsor of Partners for Youth Opportunity (PYO) and happily donated to The League of Upper Extremity Wrestling Women of Durham (LUEWWD) event which helped raise funds for Partners for Youth Opportunity (PYO)Â Girls Empowerment Project. PYO is a year-round, multi-year mentoring and job readiness program for teens interested in preparing for their futures. PYO focuses on 4 outcomes for their students: Educational Attainment, Economic Stability, Mentoring Relationships and Community Engagement. With over 100 volunteers and only 5 staff, PYO delivers opportunities that range from tutoring and college support to workforce training and paid internships, paired with financial literacy and savings.
Perry Harrison Elementary School, Chapel Hill

The Perry Harrison Elementary School PTA is committed to providing outreach to new students and families by encouraging participation in their events. They reach beyond the school to the partners in their community for guidance, participation, and financial support for their programs. The Perry Harrison Elementary School is located just up the road from the Dermatology & Laser Center, and the children of some of our staff attend there. This year DLC is proud to support the school’s PTA Raffle Basket and Bingo Night.

Caring House Benefit Gala –Â 2019 Table Sponsor

Caring House provides support and affordable housing to Duke Cancer Institute adult outpatients and their caregivers. Caring House is a beautiful home located in Durham and close to the Duke Cancer Institute. There are 18 private bedrooms with shared community kitchen, great room, library, water garden, and healing garden. Caring House provides a home away from home for many deserving guests as they undergo cancer treatment at Duke Cancer Institute. Caring House allows families to concentrate on healing by helping to alleviate some of the everyday burdens and also provides an extremely warm and caring community.
