Diana Walker, PA-C

Diana Walker, PA-C

We are excited to welcome Diana Walker, a board-certified physician assistant, to Team DLC! Diana earned her Master’s of Physician Assistant Practice at Campbell University in 2015. She earned her undergraduate degree in Health and Exercise Science at Wake Forest University.

Diana’s path to practicing dermatology began when she was a medical assistant in a busy dermatology practice. She was able to see first-hand the impact that an excellent dermatology provider can have on a patient’s well-being. Assisting in biopsies, excisions, wound care, education and the treatment of common dermatological conditions and cosmetic procedures solidified to Diana that a career in dermatology would be rewarding and full of life-long learning. Diana’s passion for dermatology grew even stronger after clinical dermatology rotations during PA school.

Prior to joining the Dermatology & Laser Center of Chapel Hill, Diana worked in an urgent care setting. Urgent care experience provided Diana the opportunity to care for patients of all ages presenting with a wide variety of acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and skin conditions. She was able to hone her procedural skills including wound care, suturing, I&D, foreign body removal, and nail removal.

Diana takes great pride in rendering thorough and personalized care, always taking the extra time to listen and educate patients. She finds treating all things skin very rewarding and takes great joy in improving patients’ health while profoundly enhancing their confidence.

Diana lives in Raleigh with her two pitbulls, Meatball and Betty Waffles. In her free time, you can find Diana  outside hiking, paddleboarding or roller skating! She loves to travel, but also appreciates a rainy day on the couch reading.

Amy Rodriguez, PA-C

Amy Rodriguez, PA-C

Meet Amy Rodriguez, the newest addition to Team DLC! Amy is a board-certified Physician Assistant and US Army veteran. She earned her Master of Medical Science from Wake Forest University Physician Assistant program in 2016 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Engineering Psychology from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2006. Amy served 6 years of active duty, jumping out of airplanes as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division stationed at Fort Bragg, NC, with several deployments dispersed throughout.

After serving in the Army, Amy’s path to practicing dermatology began while working as a dermatology medical assistant, where she assisted with surgical procedures and provided patient education regarding medications and treatment plans. Amy was inspired by dermatology providers and colleagues to develop her clinical practice and efforts around patient-centered skin care. Before joining the Dermatology & Laser Center of Chapel Hill, Amy worked at UNC Chapel Hill Campus Health Services, allowing her to care for the college patient population with various acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and skin conditions. One of her most significant points of pride was the initiative to bring Accutane (isotretinoin) treatments to UNC students. While there, she also honed her procedural skills, including many dermatologic procedures.

Amy lives in Chapel Hill with her loyal, furry, four-legged companion Penny. In her free time, she enjoys running, swimming, competing in amateur triathlons, and defending her title as Aunt of the Year. Most of the time, she is focused on finishing her book in time for the book club.
